We are all stewards of our school’s reputation and we each have an obligation to enhance our good name in the community.  By working within a clear framework of shared values, together we can strengthen the probability of overall success for our students and for the school as a whole.

Parents Working In Harmony with Mt. Vernon Christian School

  1. Parents recognize that effective partnerships are characterized by clearly defined and shared responsibilities, open lines of communication, trust, mutual respect, and a common goal:  developing the whole child.
  1. In choosing Mt. Vernon Christian School, parents seeking a match based on the needs of their children, their own expectations, and the school itself by taking into account Mt. Vernon Christian School’s philosophy and objective, programs, curriculum, policies, practices, procedures and schedules.
  1. Parents provide a home environment that supports the development of positive attitudes and habits.
  1. Parents involve themselves in the life of Mt. Vernon Christian School by volunteering, staying informed, attending events and performances, contributing to discussions at forums and participating in parent education opportunities.
  1. Parent’s seek and value Mt. Vernon’s perspective on the student, recognizing that, at times there are differences in children’s behavior at home and at school.
  1. When parents have concerns involving the school, parents should seek information from and consult with the teacher at Mt. Vernon Christian School and anyone else that is closest to the situation (administrator, headmaster, etc.). These concerns could be personal (such as an issue involving their child) or communal (such as a rumor they hear in the community).
  1. Parents share with Mt. Vernon Christian School any religious, cultural, medical, academic, or personal information that the school may need in order to serve the student best.
  1. Parents accept their financial responsibilities to Mt. Vernon Christian School: make tuition payments on time and consider supporting fundraising efforts according to their ability to support the school.

  1. Mt. Vernon Christian School and staff will be good stewards of the school’s financial resources.

 

There will be a $10 fee for membership in the Parent Teacher Fellowship per year.
